Still Alive
There be good news and bad news in this update.

The Good
- I'm stitching again! After nearly half a year of not being able to touch my work I'm back at it!

- I've been focusing on a pattern of my cousin James. Here's where I was back in July and one from today.
July 13/12, Uploaded from the Photobucket Android App January 15/13, Uploaded from the Photobucket Android App

- Yesterday my uncle and his wife [yes she is technically my aunt, but seeing's how I went to high school with her ^_~ I don't call her aunt] had a beautiful baby girl! Named Ellie!

The Bad
- Yesterday I had to put down my cat Chaz. He was a rescue we took in when he was already 9 years old with a hole in his heart. He lived with us until he was 14 and I think had a wonderful life! Despite his age and medical problems, he'd still race around the house like a total idiot from time to time. But the last few days he'd been having trouble with his mouth, I think his teeth were beginning to rot and it was causing him a lot of pain. Due to his heart problem he couldn't be put under to have any dental work done so there really wasn't any other option.

The Makes me Feel a Little Better
- Shuffles suggested that I cross stitch a picture of Chaz when I felt up to it and that idea alone made me feel a whole lot better. I immediately started looking for a good picture and designed this pattern.
I'll be stitching this on black fabric which makes for a very dramatic look, just like how I did Romeo for my mum. I really can't wait for the supplies to arrive so I can get started! It'll be the first project that I've ever done for myself.

Sorry to hear about Chaz, he was a sweetie! *hugs* Your cross-stich pattern of him looks like it will be amazing.

I think both of these patterns are turning out or will turn out very well. I'll be excited to see them both when they're done.

That being said, I'm really sorry to hear about Chaz. Hopefully working on this project will be something to soothe your heart during this time. Losing a beloved critter is just as painful as any other loss. I'm sorry you're going through that. It's really wonderful that you gave him such a loving, happy home.

Thank you!! I'm glad I have so many happy memories with him! And thanks to my mum, so many wonderful pictures too! He always wanted to cuddle right up under your chin and was never truly happy until he had at least one paw down your shirt! ^_~ that earned him the title of 'Dirty Old Man Cat' ^_~

I tell you the fabric [the only part that's keeping me from starting] can't get here fast enough for me ^_^

You'll have to post progress shots along the way! I'm sure it'll be fantastic.

And I totally understand. One of my cats (Daggett) isn't happy unless he has at least one paw on me somewhere. Some cats turn out to be fantastically needy. It's what makes them so sweet, though. ♥

I'll definitely do that! I'm really hoping that I'll be able to start sometime this week.

I completely agree!! My Heero is decidedly needy at times, but he only wants attention from me and he usually chooses the most inopportune times to come and get his fill ^_~ just about always when I'm stitching!
