Many Many Happy Returns shuffles \o/

I wasn't sure if you were like me and prefer most people don't know what day you're birthday is, so this is certainly a safer place to post it ^_^

I hope you have a great day!! *hugs*

I'm now pretty positive that I won't be able to get Whiskers completed before shuffles birthday. One of the things that made Romeo so quick was that I was only stitching the kitty. So I think I'm still making good time with this pattern.

I'm sure Shuffles that you must be looking forward to 1) seeing Whiskers and 2) just being able to look at my projects as I post progress shots.

progress is good!Collapse )

This post is a note to anyone who is interested that I'm willing to turn your photos into patterns free of charge.

To view the patterns you can either download a free viewer from - HobbyWare downloads

Or I can save the file as a PDF and email it [please let me know which you'd prefer]

If there's a picture you want turned into a pattern, simply email the photo to me [pictures2patterns(at)gmail(dot)com] the largest file size would be best. But I'm willing to try working with anything
[Note: I can apparently do quite a bit with low res pictures to]

Please let me know a few things in your email.

One: I need an idea of how large you want the pattern to be.
- example, 7x10"

Two: How many colors do you want it to be?
- is there a number that would keep you from picking up a pattern? example, 'I won't touch anything over 50 colors'?

Three: Do you want the thread to be DMC?
- DMC is the program's default but it allows for most other brands, I can at least let you know if they have what you're looking for.

Four: How many stitches per inch would you like?
- since I tend to stitch over-1 on all fabrics please specify if you're planing on stitching over-2

Note: Pattern Maker converts pictures to full stitches only.

Above All: Please don't hesitate to ask me to make changes, at most it usually takes me 5 minutes to put together a pattern and it isn't a problem at all for me to remake a pattern.

I decided to create a folder for some examples of the photos I've converted into patterns click here if you'd like to take a look

I think I can safely say I'm over half way done Whiskers. Early this morning I completed all the stitching on the first page. I probably would have had it done last night if Heero hadn't been insisting I go to bed.

The first page was comprised of a little more than 8000 stitches, what you see in the overall picture is pages one, two and three although three is more of a half page than full.
page one done!Collapse )
I'm now going to complete the background on page two then work on three, or I might get distracted finishing page to entirely I'll wait and see what happens. Filling in background is more fun when you've worked on the focus of the picture some.

I don't know yet how long I'll keep this second Journal up kind of feels like a 'What's the point?' kinda thing. Its not like anyone was complaining at my old journal about all the cross-stitching stuff. But maybe it'll be a good thing to keep my cross-stitching separated.

Update on WhiskersCollapse )

I might take updated pictures later today of both Kiba and the Sakura pattern.

Ideally I want to use this journal for my cross-stitching, to display pictures and patterns and possibly in the future take commissions.

I'm really not sure how much use this journal will see but that's the plan.

- Kiba
- Sakura

Future Projects:

- Kate
- Surprise for Kate
- Murphy
- Berlin
- Dodger
- Peggy's Cove
- Surprise for Starrbeam

I'll post progress picture later.
